We’re in the middle of planning a party for our neighbors on Saturday, September 6th from 2:00-6:00. When we think about why we’re doing that — things aren’t as clear as they seem.
Sure, we’re hoping to get visitors to the church and maybe a few people will come back on Sunday.
But, it’s also about what a woman said when she came to wash clothes and shower at the church, “You’re the church that’s always helping people.”
It sounded right — like the way a church is supposed to be.
Please feel free to stop by to help yourself to some free food (we’ve got really good cooks), free school supplies and a chance to win free prizes. If you need support or just want someone to pray for you … We’d love to try to help.
There’s “no catch, no obligation or purchase necessary.”
It just feels right … because that’s what Jesus called his church to do.
Jesus said, “Love your neighbor.” May we love our neighbors across the street and around the world. Amen.”
