Jesus said, “My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”

We welcome and accept all people. And, all means all.

It really is that simple.

Early in the 1990s, Journey of Faith Christian Church recognized the calling to love and welcome all of God’s children. The congregation affirmed the inclusion of everybody in the church’s life and ministry. We were doing what was right, before it became the right thing to do.

We take to heart the message of 1 Corinthians 12 and why it’s important to include the entire body of Christ in ministry to others. Each person brings their own unique abilities to the table, illustrating perfectly that “the eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you.’ ” We try to remain faithful to that calling.

It’s that simple for us too.

“God, who despises and rejects none of your children, help us learn from Jesus to respect and love all. Amen!”
